10th century
It is called “Puerta del mercado” what means market’s gate and it belonged to the first walled enclosure. On it was risen the “Torre del Reloj” (clock's tower) in the 16th century. That is the reason why it is known as "Arco del Reloj" (clock's arch).
It has a square plan, and according to legend, for the mortar manufacture was used wine because it was more abundant than the water in the city. The structure has therefore three sections: the arch that can be walked through to get the square, the chapel, the clock and finally, the bell tower, topped with a dome.
