11th-13th centuries
The church was built with a nave of 3 straight sections. It has a square head part and a belfry.
Belonging to the Romanesque period can be seen an eave with 12 nacelle corbels and in the nave, in the second and third sections of the northern side, there are remains of the original wall. Inside are the remains of an arch, though the church has undergone major renovations.
It houses the so-called "Cristo de San Atilano" or "Cristo del Valle de la Vega". This Christ is possibly the most significant from Romanesque of Sayago. It belongs to the ermitage of Cristo de la Vega. It is a real-size polychrome wood sculpture and shows the dead Christ on the Cross with very defined geometric and symmetrical rib cage.
The access is free of charge but there are neither visiting hours nor guided tours.
The temple can be visited only during mass celebrations.
